About

APPRENTLINE

Work-based learning and apprenticeships have been identified as a central element to support young people to make smoother transitions from school to employment. These apprenticeships were usually organised with physical presence of the apprentice in the location of the company. The covid19 pandemic has presented a significant disruption of education and training across Europe and has made the organisation of physical apprenticeships increasingly difficult.

There was a greater realisation of the need the apprenticeship system to adapt and offer more training virtually. However, nobody from the main actors involved (VET institutions, companies, intermediary organisations) was ready to support this transition and
as a result the impact of covid19 to apprenticeships and work-based learning was tremendous.

The general objective of the project is to build the capacity of VET actors (VET schools, Companies, intermediary organisations) to use effectively digital tools in order to organise online apprenticeships.

RESULTS

The concrete results that the project is going to develop are the following

BEST PRACTICES

A collection of at least 30 best practices from all over the world in order to identify ideas and practices that could be replicated in the local context of each VET actor.

HANDBOOK

Three handbooks, one addressed to VET organisations, one addressed to intermediary organisations and one addressed to companies with step-by-step guides, tips and templates related with the organisation of online apprenticeships, guidance on the development of a digital apprenticeship strategy at institution level.

TRAINING COURSE

A training course aiming at the building of the capacity of these actors to engage effectively in the organisation of effective online apprenticeships.
